At NSTT, both our Podiatrists and Soft Tissue Therapists may give you some corrective exercises as part of your Management Plan.  With some injuries, loosening up the tight muscles needs to be followed by tightening up the loose muscles (or strengthening the weak muscles).  Repetitive corrective exercise is the best way to achieve muscle strength and is also a way to insure that the problem doesn't return.  We find that performing strengthening exercises and keeping strong and stable is the most significant factor contributing to full resolution and recurrence prevention.
